It is very important to have scissors with curve blades. It is easier to make an applique with it.
Step 1:
Hoop the material which you’d like to have the applique on it.
The outline of the applique should be stitched first. You can use any thread color you want. It’s going to be covered anyway.
Step 2:
Place your applique fabric over the outline. Fix the fabric with tape if necessary.
Step 3:
Sew the tacking stitches, tack the applique fabric down.
Step 4:
Remove the hoop from the machine but don’t unhoop!
Step 5:
Cut Away the Fabric – Get close 1mm to the stitches but do not cut them!
Step 6:
Place hoop back to the machine.
Step 7:
Final Stitches – satin cover the stitches.
